I am going to do a trek in Namibia. Can anyone advise what clothing, equipment etc I should be taking?

You do not say where in Namibia, or what sort of trek you are going to do. If you are on a diy trip, take maps, gps, etc. Remember to take a torch, we used a wind-up torch/radio combination which one can recharge using the cell phone cable. Good protection against mosquitos plus long sleeve shirts, long pants and a good hat are essentials. Sunscreen, of course. And warm clothes for night time. See this link:

sorry i don't know what a trek is, en where are you from?I am going to do a trek in Namibia. Can anyone advise what clothing, equipment etc I should be taking?
Difficult to say without knowing exactly what your ';trek'; entails. There's a difference between going backpacking in the Visrivier Canyon and tackling the dunes in your 4x4. It looks, however, as if the previous answers cover most of the things. Enjoy your trip and don't forget the photo's.
You will need light coloured loose, breathable clothing for the hot days, along with a hat, sun cream, deet, sturdy walking shoes or sandals. For the nights you will need thermal underwear (it is bitterly cold once the sun goes down) and long trousers and tops.

You will need a decent sleeping bag and a thermo rest (if you are camping).
Take some anti-malaria tablets, mosquito net and insect repellent!
