One last Islamic artist worth mentioning (and definitely worth listening to) is Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, a qawwali singer from Pakistan (which isn't an Arab country, but rather South Asian). NFAK died in 1997, but he has perhaps the most beautiful male voice you'll ever hear. If you want to hear him on a western recording, he is featured on the soundtrack to the movie ';Dead Man Walking'; - I highly recommend checking out ';The Execution'; in particular, as well as his collaborations with Eddie Vedder.
