My mother's dvd player is having a problem. It keeps saying Loading, but never loads, Please advise!?

I bought a Philips dvd lens cleaner today, i thought this might help...I loaded it into the player and it says ';this dvd can not be played on this player';. What is wrong, and should i try to fix it? it is not that old, it is a Samsung dvd/ vcr combo..My mother's dvd player is having a problem. It keeps saying Loading, but never loads, Please advise!?
There are a few different things that you can try. First make sure that your discs are clean before you put them in the player. Even if the disc is new I would recommend cleaning the disc off. The second thing that you can try is a DVD player reset. You can do this by unplugging the player for about 5-10 minutes. Then plug it back in and try the disc. If that does not help I would try a DVD head cleaner in the player. If all of these things do not work, it is most likely an issue with the player.
