hi everyone! can someone tell me if there is a way of locking my laptop keyboard temporarily, to stop my young son from pressing lots of keys(like they do) as i dont want to have to keep shutting it down. thankyou in advance! Please can someone advise me on my laptop?
Try using the Miscrosoft shortcut :
Windows Logo Key + '; L ';Please can someone advise me on my laptop?
Press the power button halfway and this will put your computer in the ';sleep'; mode. However, before doing this, make sure you ';password enable'; your laptop so that it requires a password when it boots up or it ';wakes up'; from standby/sleep mode. Without typing the appropriate password, the keyboard and mouse pad are both disabled.
if your using XP or Vista you can
vista go to start and press the adlock on the start menu (or press Fn F1 for most laptops)
xp
put the machine in standby it shuts the machine off but it restarts quicker
hope this helps
Hi
Yes, you can set up a screen saver with a password, and when tryng to type something need to type password first
you could make your laptop go on standby or you can lock it and then if they do press keys nothing will happen
try hibernating or put it on standby. Or close the cover of your laptop or if u have vista. Press windows key and L.
u can apply password on user accounts..log off whenever u are not using it..he can still doing it but can't do more.....i think it should work...
just go to start and choose lock this will lock your whole system until you unlock it
