Thinking about getting a chihuahua puppy. Any advise?

We're thinking about getting a chihuahua puppy. What can I expect? How difficult are they to train? What are some pros and especially cons? Thanks so much!Thinking about getting a chihuahua puppy. Any advise?
Chihuahuas are great dogs, but they are not for everybody

Here is information on the breed that will help you decide whether or not this breed is right for you.

I have a chihuaha and he is the sweetest! He was not too hard to train just let him outside and he'll figure out what to do. Also, it you're gental with them, they grow up very sweet. Don't feed them table food because for some reason that makes them really mean. ANother thing don't bring them to someone else's house unless you will hold them because they think they own the world and will pee everywhere. Pros: THey are very sweet and suprisingly great guard dogs!

Cons: not really any
You can expect your neighbours to be extremely annoyed with you maybe even to the point of hate. I live next door to someone who has a chihuahua and every day when I am woken up at 5am I contemplate killing the little rat! For the good of humanity do NOT get a chihuahua!
If you want a Chihuahua...then get one. But I would advise that you read up on the breed. Try this site http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/chihuahua.ht鈥?/a>

They can be yappers...but they can also be trained. It takes patience and time because they can be stubborn. You may want to also crate train the pup so it gets used to being in a crate at night or when you aren't home.

It's a breed you want to start socializing early in life.

Enjoy your pet!
chihuahaus like to bark so u can expect barking. And they can get a little jealous, but they're really cute. Training them can be fairly easy but then again it depends on the dog. They don't eat alot but vet bills can cost as much as any bigger dog would. If you are buying it from a breeder you should check out where they keep the dogs and make sure the puppy is not too young. We had a problem like that with a couple of our chis. Rocky and Angel. the breeder sold them to us saying they were small teacups but we later found out that they were really just young so when they grew up they got to be pretty good sized dogs espeacially Rocky! But I still love them!^^
i think that you should not get a chihuahua. those dogs are tiny but alot of them have really bad attitudes. another small cute dog you could get it a yorkie. they are so cute and quit. they love to play and are very friendly. no matter what dog yuo decide to get you love them because they are just so adorable
My daughter bought one he is very cheeky but good natured full of fun loves his toys . Compared to other breeds Micky was expensive and he sheds that's the down side for me hairs everywhere so annoying did not think chihuahua's shed the way he does. He is so loving and VERY smart.
we have 4 chihuahua's they dont learn commands very well and yes you might as well get a cat, but mine do not yap in fact the only noise one makes is a little howling noise, they can be obediant, but they can do there own thing,

i wouldnt swap mine for the world!!

xxkimxx
I have 4 chis and a couple of them are yappy and the other two are calm and quiet. My smaller ones are the yappy, nippy ones. I think the smaller they are, the more they are spoiled.
They are cute and small, but their size does pose some problems - they are prone to biting since they feel threatened easily, and smaller dogs are generally harder to potty train.
might as well get a cat, those dogs yap like crazy, I hope you are an insomniac
