Why does my computer advise against installing active x? what are the dangers and how do i avoid them ?

Just say ';no'; to Active X. It has security holes so big in it you could drive a Mack Truck through them. Various melicous software, like spyware, can use Active X to install themselves on your computer via a web page. There is very little legitimate use of Active X, most of which is done much better in Java. Why does my computer advise against installing active x? what are the dangers and how do i avoid them ?
Active X is used in various spywares and runs in Internet Explorer. To avoid Active X problems, use Firefox which does not support it. I have found very few occasions where Active X is actually needed legitimately. You should have your IE settings to not allow activeX installation except with your approval and then you should know for sure that you need it (such as with windows update)
